Detroit City FC has a new television broadcast partner for the 2024 USL Championship season, announcing Monday all eligible home and away matches for the upcoming campaign will be shown on either Detroit50 (WKBD-TV) and CBS Detroit (WWJ-TV), the club's new flagship stations.

In addition to being shown on local television, each home and women’s game will be available for streaming on CBSNews.com, according to a press release from the club. The non-eligible games include DCFC’s five nationally broadcasted games, four of which will appear on CBS Sports Network.

“This deal is the culmination of a longtime goal of DCFC: all men’s regular season games, home and away, free to watch across the state of Michigan,” said DCFC co-founder and chief creative officer Alex Wright. “CBS Detroit is the perfect local partner; they share a commitment to our city and will complement the national deal that (USL Championship) has signed with CBS, CBS Sports and Golazo.

“Our club remains committed to accessibility, so integration of the CBS Detroit streaming platform is equally exciting; we know fans become supporters when they can predictably see their club play week in and week out, home and away.”

DCFC games were previously broadcast locally on WMYD and streamed on ESPN Plus.

CBS Detroit general manager and president Brian Watson said, “We are looking forward to this partnership with Detroit City Football Club, ensuring all games will be readily accessible to our viewers and dedicated fans both on air and through streaming.”

DCFC’s broadcast will return play-by-play man Neal Ruhl, who has called Detroit City games since 2015, and color commentator John Kreger.

The club’s USL W League side will have games streamed live on CBS Detroit, according to the release. More details pertaining to W League broadcast details are to come, the club said.
