AJ Hoggard, a four-star point guard from Huntington (W.Va.) Prep, on Sunday announced his commitment to Michigan State’s 2020 recruiting class.

Hoggard, 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, picked the Spartans over Florida, Marquette, Providence and Ole Miss.

Hoggard is ranked the No. 2 player in Pennsylvania and the No. 13 point guard nationally in the 2020 class by the 247Sports Composite.

Hoggard is from Wayne, Pa., and played for Archbishop Carroll outside Philadelphia for two years before transferring to Huntington Prep. He becomes the third commitment in Michigan State’s 2020 class, joining Utah center Mady Sissoko and Flint Beecher point guard Jalen Terry.

“The vibe that they have been giving me since day one and how (Tom) Izzo handles his guards, along with the production that they have had from the guard position," Hoggard told Rivals.com. “To come in as a freshman and get to play, it is always big, and to come into a spot for Cassius (Winston), it is going to be huge for me.”
