Indiana defensive end Robertson picks Michigan State

The Detroit News

Michigan State continued its big recruiting weekend Sunday when defensive end Auston Robertson, the No. 1 player in Indiana, committed to the Spartans.

Robertson, a 6-foot-5, 260-pounder from Fort Wayne, is the second four-star prospect to commit to the Spartans this weekend. Josh King, a defensive end and the No. 1 player from Illinois, committed on Friday.

"I had a good relationship with the staff and players," Robertson told 247Sports.com. "Every time I visited it was a family atmosphere."

Allen Trieu of Scout.com said Robertson "is potentially the most athletic prospect in the Midwest."

Robertson made his announcement at the RAS camp in Fort Wayne. Spartans coach Mark Dantonio was at the camp.

MSU now has 15 commitments in the class of 2016 and could get two more Monday. Naquan Jones, a defensive tackle from Evanston, Illinois, and Mike Panasiuk, a defensive tackle from Roselle, Illinois, are schedule to make their announcements Monday and both are favored by recruiting experts to pick the Spartans.
