Paul W. Smith: Celebrating a Pure Michigan spring

“Outta’ My Mind on a Monday Moanin’ ”

A move toward normalcy! This Monday we start our annual Paul W. Smith Show/WJR Radio 2021 Pure Michigan Tour! “Pure Michigan, your trip begins at Michigan.org.”

We broadcast from The Pavilion at The Henry Ford's Greenfield Village, thanks to Huntington.

Then it’s on to my hometown of Monroe to broadcast Tuesday from River Raisin National Battlefield Visitor Center, thanks to ITC.

Wednesday, we will climb aboard Shepler's Mackinac Island Ferry and do our 6-10 a.m. show from Mackinac Island and the parlor at the Grand Hotel, America’s summer place.

Thursday, Great Lakes Bay Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau (Go Great) will host us as we broadcast live from Dow Gardens in Midland. Plan your next visit at  GoGreat.com.

And finally, Friday, Rocket Mortgage has invited us to do our show from the iconic Detroit Golf Club, once again home of The Rocket Mortgage Classic.

►The beloved Eastern Market Flower Day will become “days” starting Tuesday and each Tuesday this month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

►If you’re knee-deep in spring cleaning or organizing your garage (again), how about donating those old bikes no one is riding anymore? Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard and the Dan Gutfreund Realty Group would love to have them and pass them on to some kids in need.

This Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. it’s the annual Re-Cycle for Kids program with drop-off at any of the sheriff departments' 12 substations and a variety of other locations. Find them at 248-858-1947.

For the first 50 bikes collected, Gutfreund will donate 50 new bikes for children in need.

Paul W. Smith is host of “The Paul W. Smith Show” on WJR-AM (760) from 6-10 a.m. Monday-Friday.
