WB I-94 ramp to SB I-75 reopens after overturned semi hauling cows removed

Detroit — The ramp from westbound Interstate 94 to southbound I-75 in Detroit will has reopened Tuesday morning, after a semi hauled that overturned Monday afternoon was removed, authorities said.

A semi hauling 38 cows lost control and flipped on the westbound I-94 ramp to southbound Interstate 75 at about 3:10 p.m., state police reported on Twitter.

Lt. Mike Shaw, spokesman and commander for the Michigan State Police in Metro Detroit, says 20 of the cows survived. The rest had to be euthanized.

The westbound I-94 ramp was closed until about 8:30 a.m., the Michigan Department of Transportation said, as crews worked to remove the trailer from the ramp.
