Inkster — Michigan State Police troopers and officers from several police departments responded Friday evening to a reported shooting at Middlebelt and Rosewood.

Police were called to the scene about 7:20 p.m. A crowd had been gathered at the site, outside Moe's Fish & Chicken. Muffled sobs could be heard from groups of people outside the restaurant.

An Inkster police officer confirmed gunfire had occurred but referred further questions to State Police.

MSP spokesman Lt. Mike Shaw said Saturday state police are not releasing any information on the investigation at this time.

Departments in Garden City, Dearborn Heights and Westland also responded to the call.
