MSP arrest parole absconder who shot at officers

Michigan State Police have arrested a man who violated parole and allegedly fired a gun at officers.

MSP's First District Fugitive Task force arrested Marcus Oglesby, 31, on Tuesday morning after searching a residence where a car black Jeep Patriot he had been in was found, the state police First District said on X.

Oglesby absconded from parole on March 20 and was wanted for multiple felony warrants, including aggravated assault, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections and MSP.

Officers from the Michigan Department of Corrections Absconder Recovery Unit had followed Oglesby's car into Delta Township when Oglesby allegedly got out with a gun and shot at the MDCAR car, according to MSP.

No one was injured.

Oglesby exited the Jeep at a Waverly Road shopping plaza off of West Saginaw Highway before the car drove off,

Officials did not find Oglesby at the residence where the car was parked, but were able to later arrest him in Jackson, MSP said on X.

Other details were not immediately available Wednesday.
