A Cheboygan man accused of sending a minor explicit pictures and possessing child porn has been charged, officials said.

Jamie Allen Rocheleau, 50, was arraigned last week in 89th District Court in Cheboygan on a count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material and a count of possession of child sexually abusive material.

A judge set bond at $10,000 and scheduled his next court hearing for May 10.

If convicted, he faces up to four years in prison for the aggravated possession charge and four years for the other possession charge.

Michigan State Police said they began investigating Rocheleau in January after troopers were asked to help Gaylord police officers execute a search warrant outside their jurisdiction.

Gaylord police were looking into allegations Rocheleau had sent photos of his genitalia to a minor in their city, according to authorities.

Police executed a search warrant at the defendant's home and seized cell phones and computers. Officers arrested him and took him to the Otsego County Jail.

Michigan State Police analysts recovered child pornography unrelated to the Gaylord complaint on his phone, officials said.

Last Thursday, troopers with the Gaylord Post obtained an arrest warrant for Rocheleau.

Police arrested him at his home and took him to the Cheboygan County Jail. He was arraigned Friday.
