MI Dream Home: Custom house near downtown Ann Arbor has 6 bedrooms
A custom-built house near downtown Ann Arbor that offers room for kids, as well as the in-laws, is up for sale.
The two-story brick home is located at 602 Linda Vista St. in Ann Arbor.
"It's walking distance to downtown Ann Arbor," said owner Darryl Martins. "It also has easy access to public transportation and both Interstate 94 and M-14."
Built in 2017, the 4,000-square-foot home has six bedrooms, four full bathrooms and a half bathroom. It sits on a lot that's more than 6,900 square feet. The asking price is about $1.6 million.
Martins said every aspect of the house was meticulously planned out "from the large living room and dining room to the in-laws' living quarters in the basement."
The first floor has 10-foot ceilings, a sunroom, an office/study and the half bath. In addition, there's a custom-built mudroom that can keep the school bags and coats of multiple children organized.
There's also a wood-burning stove in the living room that can heat up the entire floor in winter.
Furthermore, the house comes with an attached, heated three-car garage. "There's an entrance to the kitchen that makes unloading groceries a breeze," Martins said.
Upstairs is where the five bedrooms are found along with a master bathroom and two Jack and Jill bathrooms. The master bathroom has a stand-up shower with two shower heads and side jets in addition to a copper-finish bathtub. It also has a large vanity, two separate sinks and a bidet.
Downstairs, space in the finished basement is divided into two living areas: an exercise room and a living area. The exercise room has a 10-foot ceiling and a steam room. The other half of the basement, the in-laws' living quarters, has a bedroom, a full bathroom, a kitchen and living room. It also has its own access to the backyard.
In the backyard, the house has a large deck perfect for lounging and grilling. It also has an outdoor sound system for playing music during backyard cookouts. The backyard also has an area for a vegetable garden and another garden designed to collect rain.
Martins said the house is a rare find because it's so close to downtown Ann Arbor and it has six bedrooms and five bathrooms as well as an outdoor/indoor living space that wasmade to last.
"Every aspect of the home was custom-made," he said. "And no expense was spared in crafting the finished product."
