Chris Rizk
Deputy Metro Editor -- Nights
I am responsible for editing late-breaking posts from across the newsroom and overseeing the Metro and Business print pages on deadline each night. I joined The News in 1991 as a copy editor, a position I held through 2003, when I was named Assistant News Editor/Slot. I took a short detour to work as the deputy editor at the then Dearborn-based Arabica magazine, which covered issues in the Arab community in the United States and the Middle East, and coordinated news coverage with on-site and freelance staff from around the world. I became Night City Editor at The News in 2006 and added breaking news duties after 2012. Before joining The News, I was a reporter for publications including The Ypsilanti Press, The (Southgate) News-Herald, the Observer & Eccentric and Associated Newspapers. I am graduate of Wayne State University.
