FINALIST: People and Places - Steve Bryant of Midland, Mich. captured this image of the St Mary's rowing team cutting through the early morning fog during crew practice on Deer Lake in Boyne Falls, Mich.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION: People and Places - Meagan Burns of Petosky captured Nora, a Petoskey native, "enjoying an impromptu splash fest in Lake Michigan at Depot Park Beach in Charlevoix."

SPECIAL RECOGNITION: People and Places - Molly Berger of Elsie, Mich. made this beautiful image gazing up from the inside of an overgrown silo. She says, "I find peace out here on my farmÉthe barn is full of beauty and workmanshipÉand I love the old silos!"

Of the photo, Finley wrote, "This young man was pretty impressive in his jumps and also so nice to the younger skaters. WINNER: People and Places - With permission to stay late, Richard Grubola of Pleasant Ridge lit the Big Sable Lighthouse in Ludington with LED lights to make this fantastic photo of the lighthouse and Milky Way.

WINNER: Four-Season Fun - The judges agreed that this photo, while not exactly fun, is hauntingly stunning. Photographer Darcel Demyanovich of Rockwood photographed this man walking in the pines near Belleville Lake in Washtenaw County.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION: People and Places - Deanna Cody of Saline made this cute photo of her grandson cooling off on her porch on a hot day.

FINALIST: Woods & Wildlife - Capturing behavior in nature takes patience and Charles Gammon of Brighton obviously has patience and a good eye. He was watching a garter snake near Davidson when it began rooting under leaves, eventually finding a toad.

FINALIST: (At-Large) - The judges loved this image by Peter Brown of Benton Harbor. He took advantage of the light, angle of view and perspective to make this wonderful photo of a fisherman on the north pier in St. Joseph.

And did we mention it's a really fun photo? Sarah Guertin of Center Line snapped this shot while she and friends were enjoying their Sunday morning trail run at Stony Creek Metropark.
