Detroit Christmas trees are switched on for the holidays

Although the 17th annual Detroit Tree Lighting event was a pre-recorded, made-for-TV event due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 19,000 lights on the official Detroit Christmas tree in Campus Martius Park were turned on Friday evening and many people enjoyed strolling around the park enjoying the lights and the unseasonably warm weather.
